Fulda town of the gardens and the green

In Fulda gardens have a long culture. Beginning with the monastery gardens in the Middle Ages, the baroque gardens which served above all the representation were created at the beginning of the 18th century.
Then at the beginning of the 19th century the first public parks originated to the rest of the citizens, how the dog hedge arrangement and the women's mountain park. At that time these were financed mainly from donation money.
In the course of the urban development from the middle of the 20th century and above all with the Hessian land horticultural show in 1994 in Fulda many green arrangements were reworked exemplarily and made available for the citizens.
Aspects of town ecology and rest flowed in onto the advancement of the green areas. In 2002 a sign was put with the arrangement of the garden culture path to develop the available garden culture and to make for the population obviously and experienceable.

Today the city of Fulda to the rest and relaxation has to offer something:

- 28 park arrangements and green arrangements
- 5 greenbelt recreation areas
- 20 cemeteries
- 114 playing areas
- 10 open green playgrounds
- 6 allotment arrangements
